Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Abuse Hotline/ Lawsuit threat

One of my family members phoned the abuse hotline to report potential abuse of a sick patient being treated at her husband's home in Florida. Now the husband is threatening to sue the entire family, as we've been trying to keep informed about the patient to no avail and it's clear that we were the ones who called. I don't think he has any grounds to sue us. We're just worried (and suspicious, as he provides no information about her condition and overall is not acting considerate). We feel it would have been negligence to not phone the hotline and request an investigation. To be fair, the investigation revealed nothing wrong, but does he have any grounds to actually form a lawsuit, or is this just a baseless threat? He also continually mentions that his sister is a lawyer and so on, which is very disconcerting, even prior to our call. I don't feel that we were in the wrong here, as we had reason to believe through his actions and comments that something was not right, but I'm also not clear on the legal implications of the matter. Thank you.

Re: Abuse Hotline/ Lawsuit threat

It sounds like he is trying to scare you and get you to mind your own business. I wouldn't worry about it unless he actually sues, but I would try to mind my own business now that you know everything is fine.
