Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Adoption By Grandparents

My husband is allowing his son's mother;s parents to legally adopt his son for to legally adopt his son in the best interest of the child. Both child's parents are signing temporary custody forms giving custody to the grandparents. My husband pays the childs mother support currently. Shouldn't support stop if she is giving custody to her parents? Should the grandparents be opening a temporary child support case?

Re: Adoption By Grandparents

You are mixing up two different possibilities. First is that they are adopting the child, which if true would end his legal rights and obligations to the child. Second is giving them temporary custody; this is only temporary and does not change his legal rights or responsibilities to continue to pay child support.
