Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

i need some advice i have been contacted by a ex regarding a kid it may or may not be mine how do i obtain a paternity test what are my rights and how does child supprt work as we are in two different states she is in mississippi and i in florida which child support laws would i look at as i know it varys state by state and she is engaged would i still have to pay if she is married and have two incomes

Child support is based on the income of the mother and father - not their spouses. If she sues in Florida - then Florida laws applies. Personally, you are not subject to another state if you do not live their so I suspect she will have to file here. If you file, you must file in her state and that state will rule. So - who is filing - paternity test can be requested at any time in the court by filing a answer if an action is filed. Otherwise, you could ask her for a paternity test.
