at what age does a child have to be to choose which parent they want to live with?

It depends on the judge. Rarely, a judge will let a child choose where he or she wishes to live when he or she is 14 or 15. Most judges won't let children choose until they are 16 or even 17. Some not even then.

It varies depending on the jurisdiction and judge. In Orlando, the children have to be at least 14 to have a say.
