Animals are considered the same as personal property. The law has been constant for many years that whomever purchased it has the rights to ownership. There have recent cases, however, to change the thought as to animals although Florida is currently behind the trend in other states. This may soon change.

This might be one for Judge Judy! I suppose the dog would be personal property and you could try to replevin the dog or get a judge to, at least, establish guide-line visits with the dog. Is one of you the owner or the purchaser of the dog?
The dog was not a problem for 5 yrs and now it is?
