Do I have to answer a request for production if this case is dealing with family law and we were never married we just share a child in common??

Yes. The documents in the request to produce wil show your income and ability to pay child support or provide for the child and would also show if you were hiding income or assets. You must answer the request to produce to the best of your ability.

YOu can file an objection to the discovery and asert that the information requested has gone beyond the scope as defined and that the discovery be limited to certain questions pertaining specifically to your situation. However, you would have to prove why this would be necessary and could be damaging to you. Remember this only pertains to you and your income not that of your spouse or whomever you are living with.
