appealing divorce after final papers are recorded
got final papers and are nothing like agreed to in court. dates changed from nov. to jan.crossed out by hand and new terms hand written in without my knowledge. he now wants me to pay him rent on home that i was told i could live in rent free until i remarried. recieved nothing in but a 97 car and shirt on my back. can't believe this could even be recored with the cross outs and handwritten terms and dates. This was filed in nassau county fla. this is not a joke and i'm worried i could be homeless shortly. do you think something can be done?

I assume you did the divorce yourselves. If you went before a judge for the final hearing there must be some record of it. Do you have a copy of the original one? I would go to the Clerk's Office or go see the judge's assistant and find out what's going on. Show them your original copy and then show them the alterations. Nothing like that should be ever accepted in the Clerk's office. Usually the judge's office sends down the final papers themselves, not one of the parties. Sounds like the clerk did't pay attention either.
