Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I asked my 21 year old son to leave our house. He said he would not and asked what I was going to do about it. I tild him I would call the police and ask them to escort him out. He then told me I was threatening him and called the police. When they arrived I told them what happened and theytold me I needed to have him legally evicted and it would take 30 days. Is this true? I live in Brevard County Florida, my son does not pay rent and occasionally helps out around the house with chores.

Your remedy is ejectment, not eviction. Eviction is for tenants.
