Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I have a baby with my ex boyfriend. He never sees her and he hasn't helped out financially for her at all and she's 8 months. When he does see her, I have picked him up if he gave me gas money. His house isn't very stable for her which is why I haven't pursued child support yet. He just decided that he wanted to file for visitation because I wouldn't pick him up without gas and asked if he could help out with money here and there. I really don't want him to be able to take her to his house. Both he and his mom have EXTREME violent behavior. He is currently on probation for grand theft but gets off in June 2012. Is there anything I can do to make sure he can't take her to his house if he does file for visitation? Or is he going to get overnights even though he hasn't helped out and rarely sees her?

he has no rights unless you give them to him. He would have to file a paternity action, then be held responsible for child support and THEN he would be able to file for visitation but you can be sure that you can have that supervised but right now I doubt that he gets anything.
