Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Back Child Support

When I got divorced in 1995, my divorce papers indicated that the father would be obligated to pay $400 per month child support and other minor support, fees. I have not received support until just recently, about 4 months ago, and I'm wondering if I can file to collect back child support that has not been paid. The only order for support issued was the decree in the divorce papers. Is it possible to collect?

Re: Back Child Support

Yes, you can file to collect back child support. Is the father in Florida? (If not, you'll have to file in the state in which he presently resides).
