Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Back Child Support
I have back child support owed from 1986 through 1990 approximately $11,000.00 through a Supreme Court order of divorce in New York State. Presently, we both live in Florida. He collects a three quarter pension from New York Police Dept. plus social security disability payments. He recently inherited $45,000 in cash and a home in Hollywood, Florida. He has back problems but is not completely disabled. My children are now grown. The last support payment was collected through The Child Support Enforcement Unit in New York during 1990. Can I still pursue the money he owes me?

Re: Back Child Support
Absolutely. There is not time limit to collect on child support obligations.
