Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Can I go back to court
I was divorced in 1998.My ex threatened me so I didn't ask for much. At that time our house was valued at 160,000.00
My father-in-law was alive and helped us out so I only wanted one third after selling .Which at that time would have came up to about 60,000.00. But my mother, daughter and grandson was living there.I didnot want them to have to move at that time so I left it up to my ex-husband . He told me that he was going to sell is and move to a smaller place. I figured I woild get on my feet and have my mother, daughter and granson move in with me. Within six months he made them move and put the hoise on the market. It was on for a year. he then remarried and took the house off. I have never got my money which at tat time would have been 20,000.00 but now th property is worth about 3 million dollars because of land and house gone up so much. I have not received any money. Can I go back to court and get it revised?

YES, If your divorce says you get 1/3 of the equity in the home. He's playing with fire as you might get more than the original 60k. You can file a motion for contempt for him not paying you the equity and ask the judge to make him sell it or cash you out.
