Latangie Williams Law Office of Latangie Williams, P.A.

Unfortunately, you cannot "get" your last name back. A person has the free will to call him/herself whatever he/she wants. You ex-wife could have changed her name to your last name even without marrying you. For instance, my first name is Latangie and if I want to change my name to Cinderella, I could petition the court and have it done. The same goes for last names. Therefore, the court cannot make your ex-wife change her name. Only she can do that on her own free will.
