Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Is it doing to look bad against me in a judges eyes for keeping my daughter away from her dad? He threw her out (she was 11 at the time)over a year ago and NOW he is demanding to see her? She is so upset and scared and law enforcement and the school have all said don't send her to school or get her early. She is at home today because her grandmother is going to get her from the school. He has had NO contact with her in this year or asked to see her until now. She turned 12 in April of this year. I have filed a custody modification as of Monday to try for NO CONTACT. This man is mentally abusive and went to jail 5 yrs ago for domestic battery against me. PLEASE PLEASE help me. I am so concerned for her and her emotional well being. I am trying to take the right steps. Thank you!
