Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I had a really biased judge during my divorce, The judge simply awarded everything to the wife, he refuse to hear my motions, and there were about 6 motions pending before trial that were never heard. I want to appeal, I was told by the opposing attorny that I can't appeal because there was no court reporter during the trial, is this true? also is there a way of asking for new trial with a different judge without appealing the case? thanks
