Bigamy?

We just found out that my husband may have still been married when we married. He is European and filed for divorce in Europe. He was told--name removed--his ex-wife that the divorce was final and filed on 11.19.04. We were married 12.30.04. Now we received a document that may indicate that the papers were not filed until January 05. Is this bigamy? What can we do to fix it?
