Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I am the biological father of a son. I am not married. The Mother wants to take the child and relocate to another state. I do not currently pay child support as it has just been determined that I am the father but am willing to pay child support. I want to be part of my Son's life. If I pay child support, can I preclude her from relocating to another state? If she can relocate to another state, is child support reduced sincer I cannot see my child?

petition the court for paternity, then file for visitatin and child support. otherwise she will leave the state and you will have a hard time tracking her down and keeping in touch with your child.

Are you listed on the birth certificate? I would need more information in order to adequately answer your question. In all likelihood, you can petition to prevent the move. For assistance or for a free consultation, please call my office at 1-800-408-5818. As far as your second question, you cannot decrease your child support solely because of the fact that you do not see the child.
