Get a lawyer. DCF is a very (some say excessively) powerful organization. If a judge finds that you are unable to care for your grandchildren, your rights as their guardian can be terminated. Once that happens, DCF is legally allowed to place them in foster care, which can sometimes be a terrible fate for children.
