Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Birth father has child in his custody 24/7 for the past month because the birth mother has left their 6 year old son. They have been sharing parenting responsibilities since birth. They never married but maintained family household for 3 years after child was born. They are no longer together as a couple. Mother left child with father two months ago. As of Feb. 4, 2018, no contact with the mother has happened. What legal paperwork does the father need in order to keep custody of his son? This information is needed for the state of Florida.

Not enough info to be precise. Contact either DCF or file suit seeking determination of paternity.Until paternity is established Judge will not address custody, visitation or child support.
