Was it really Blackmail

my wife and i are going through a dependacy hearing. she has lied to dcf and made false allegations. we met and i recorded her with my computer with her admissions of lying and so forth. I sent her a letter

asking her to withdraw from the case or i would turn the tape over to my lawyer and dcf. in return her lawyer got a copy of the letter and i was told tp withdraw or the letter would be used to charge me with blackmail and extortion. is that true ?

Without seeing the letter I am at a disadvantage. I can tell you it is a felony in Florid to secretly record anyone. I recommend telling all to your attorney ASAP!
