Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

A bond or Life insurance?

Is a bond the same as life insurance on the obligar and how should I ask the jugde to establish either or both.

If the other party doesn't show for the hearing does the proceedings go on. Should I go on with the motion without the other party.

Re: A bond or Life insurance?

If you are asking for a bond to assure the appearance of another party at a trial or hearing, then you would ask for a bond. At the hearing, if the other party does not appear, you ask for a forfeiture of the bond and any other appropriate relief. In family law matters, a party may ask for the other party to obtain a life insurance policy which names the requesting party as beneficiary to gurantee the payment of child support or alimony. This is common in divorce actions where support or alimony are involved.
