Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
My boyfriend is dominican and he lives there. About 12 years ago he married a swedish woman. He married in DR, but went to Switzerland after they married. Well the marriage did not work out for them and he went back to DR approximately 2 months later. It has been nearly 12 years since they have seen each other or communicated. He would like to get a divorce, but fears he can not afford to, which has prevented him from moving forward with his life. Can you give us any advise on which steps we need to take to get him a valid divorce? Can you give us an estimated cost for your service? There are no children or or property from the marriage, so it should be simple. Would he still be able to get a divorce even if he no longer is able to contact her or does not know her location? Would he be able to divorce based on the amount of time they have been separated?

I venture to bet that he is divorced. Check the records in Switzerland. Otherwise file for the divorce and serve her in the last county that they lived in through the newspaper.
