Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Hi, so my ex boyfriend (father of my daughter who will be 1 next week) pays for needs, such as diapers, wipes, occasional toys, but does not contribute towards bills. I am still breastfeeding her and do not pump and never have. Her father is always VERY angry with me and yells at me and constantly calls me to make me upset. He has never changed her diaper, and I wouldn't trust him at all with her. At the hospital when she was born, after I had a very complicated long labor, he couldn't even stay awake to take care of our daughter, and even slept through her crying. He is saying he is going to get custody of her, and will ruin my life. Every Sunday I spend the day at his house with his family, but they are all welcome to come over as they please to spend time with her (none of them bother to do that.) I have videos of him driving like a crazy person with our daughter in the car. His mother tells me she thinks he is bipolar and she is always having arguments with him as well. I don't trust her though as she has told me, if he goes to court he will get partial custody as the courts apparently favor the fathers now. I don't mind allowing him to see her, but I just wouldn't know what to do if he got overnights with her. He has no clue what he is doing, and his anger issues worry me greatly. I have text messages saved, as well as many voicemails where he is yelling and saying nasty things to me. Is there any way he will get partial custody or overnights? I do not work currently as I am staying home raising our daughter, and helping my mum who is fighting breast cancer. He however works 5 days a week. Please let me know as much as you can. I am so worried, and it makes me sick to think about. Thank you.
