My brother pays for child support , the mother of his child recieves the money as normal. Just today my brother got a letter from the HRS telling him to pay 12,000 dollares Why? It seems that mother of his child filled out a HRS form which lead to her having 12,000 dollares how? no one knows. Is it right that my brother has to pay 12,000 or should the mother of his child. Typically, these types of letters come from the Child Support Enforcement Division of the Florida Department of Revenue, not HRS. It may be that she has filed a claim with the state saying that he hasn't paid his normal support. He should take the letter to a family law attorney.

HOpe you have receipts for all your support payments. Paying in cash is not going to help you. If you have been paying and have receipts, get an attorney.
