Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

I have had cancer twice and right now I am in the clear. I am married but I would like to make and have a will where I leave instructions about raising my 4 year old. I am married to a person from another culture and I wish to keep my child within my culture.

I want to give my parental right to my mother in the case I die. That way, I know if my husband remarries or needs to take the child out of the state, or make any big decision. My mother would have a say and can fight for my child in any legal problem with a new family, wife or life decision involving my child. Can it be done?

You mother has zero rights, zero. If you die the child goes to your ex.

You can certainly make your wishes known and incude them in your will. However, the law is pretty much on the side of the bio dad. If you pass, your child will be given to the bio dad. If I can be of service please contact my office for an appointment.

Glad to hear you are a survivor!
