Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
I've been caring for a 13yr. old girl for almost a year and her mother and I agreed on the discipline methods we talked about.
She agreed that as part of her daughters discipline I place her over my lap give her a spanking on her bare butt firmly but not hard. Never any marks. I have given her a spanking several times and her mother has expressed a lot of appreciation for the help. We know that spanking is absolutely legal, Our concern is the last time I gave her a spanking, someone who is against spanking heard about it and threatened to call the police. She is absurd, can she actually cause problems with a normal uninjured spanking?

I believe you should change your method of discipline. This child is 13 years old.... not a toddler. What you are doing could be construed in many different ways .such as child abuse, sexual abuse of a minor, etc. If she is that difficult to handle, perhaps you should be looking into therapy for her.
