Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

if a child was adopted, is the birth mother suppose to pay chilsupport.was adopted 1996, and still have to pay. i need HELP!!

once a child is adopted all ties with the birth parents are severed and the adoptive parents are responsible for the care of the child.
