Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Child Custody after death
Florida -I am the custodial parent of my 5 year old daughter. I went thru the domestic violence court and received supervised visitation for the mother based on recorded verbal threats. The child's grandmother, who lives with me, has helped take care of the child since birth. Question is- If I die, is there anything I can do now to prevent the child from being given to the mother full time - Will/ Trust? Thanks

Re: Child Custody after death
A will would specify in the event that I die I would like X to look after my kid. However the will could be subject to challenge in the courts. Termination of Parental Rights would be the ONLY guarantee. This is a complex procedure so you should contact a Florida Family Law attorney to assist you with this situation.
