Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child custody

My ex husband and I have shared parental responsibility, with him as primary residence. I filed a modification of custody 1 month ago, and the judge has not made her final decision, but has returned the children to his home for now. 3 days ago, he dropped my 17 yr old, and my 13 yr. old and stated he is done raising them, and left and i have not heard from him, nor will he answer or return my calls. What do I need to do? I want them to stay with me. Will the judge grant me custody now?

Re: child custody

Possibly. You need to notify the court of the change in circumstances. You want to do this immediately to allow the judge the opportunity to evaluate/consider the new information before making her ruling.

Call the judge's Judicial Assistant and ask what method of notification the judge will prefer.
