Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Child Custody Lawyer needed
I live in New York
My child's mother lives in Florida.
She will not let me see my son, or let my son visit me in NY. He is 2. I want to hire an attorney to help me. Is it better to hire one in NY, where i live, or Florida where my son lives? Or can it be either?

Florida. If your son has resided there for at least 6 months, then Floridian courts have jurisdiction over the matter.
Good Luck.

NOTE: This communication is not intended as and should not be interpreted as legal advice. Rather, it is intended solely as a general discussion of legal principles. You should not rely on or take action based on this communication without first presenting ALL relevant details to a competent attorney in your jurisdiction and then receiving the attorney's individualized advice for you. By reading the "Response" to your question or comment, you agree that the opinion expressed is not intended to, nor does it, create any attorney-client relationship, nor does it constitute legal advice to any person reviewing such information, nor will it be considered an attorney-client privileged communication. If the child and mother have resided in Florida for 6 months or more, jurisdiction is proper here and a Florida attorney will be required to go to court and represent you.
