child custody

unmarried 20 y/o dtr w/18mo old child..father incarcerated whole time, now he's being released, thinks because his name is on birth certificate he can have full access to said child..my dtr afraid he will take child & leave the state..no job, never paid child support..etc..does she have any legal grounds to keep him from unsupervised visits?

His thinking is not necessarily wrong. If he is the father of the child, he has equal parental rights unless a court determines otherwise. Your daughter needs to go to court and address the issue of child custody and visitation. While she is there, she should seek child support. She would be smart to hire an attorney to represent her in this matter.
