Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child of 18 no longer lives with father

my daughter is 18 yrs of age and was kicked out of her father house, and now resides with me. her father said that he was taking me back to court and make me pay more child support.. if she is 18 yrs of age how can I go about having the child support dropped on that child and just pay the arreages and regular support on the minor child which is still living at his home. she does not want to move back home and now enrolled in a totally different school closer to where we are living.

The hearing officer will automatically take care of that for you. You won't be required to pay current support on the 18-year-old as long as she has finished high school. You'll only have to pay the retroactive support and the support on the minor child.

There are a number of online child-support calculators available (just google it) if you want to find out what your current support is).
