Re: need help

It's not clear to me if she has custody or had custody. If you think she still has custody then you need to modify that order. If the order came from a CT court then that is where you need to modify it. They have forms you can fill out. If the custody order is in FL then that is where you need to modify it.

If she received any type of state assistance while she had custody of your daughter and you have reason to believe that she committed a fraud, or you gave her money and she didn't disclose it, etc. and the state is seeking reimbursement for the money she received, then you need to dispute this with the department which gave her the money. You can find this information out from the child support division since they have the records of what she received.

This sounds like a complicated matter that may be very difficult to resolve. You should consult with an attorney at the legal aid office near your residence for assistance.

Re: need help

Under Florida law, when someone has custody of your child--even temporarily--they are entitled to child support for the time they had custody. Also, if that person receives state assistance related to the child, the state will come after the parent(s) for child support.
