can a mother ask the court to stop intrest and cancel the intrest owed on back child suport in florida

In the state of Florida Court's have determined that child support arrears belong to the child and the mother is the custodian of those monies. Court generally determine it is not in the child's best interest for there to be a waiver of the child's right to these monies.

To my knowledge, interest is not generally charged on back child support. Child support will continue to accrue until an order is entered to stop it. A parent cannot cancel child support - it belongs to the child, not the parent. Except for in extreme situations, Courts will order child support regardless of whether or not the parent wants it.
