Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support

Ok. I am acutually asking this for a friend. He has a daugther that he has been paying child support for since day one. He was court ordered to pay child support and keep health insurance on the child. well the child is 10 years old and her teeth are horible. He was never ordered to keep dental on her. That was the mothers responsibility. Now the mother is saying that she is going to take the child to the dentist and have all of this dental work done and stick him with the bill. Can she do that? And what should he do about it to make sure that he is safe from all of this?

Re: Child support

First, make sure you read the final judgment and establish that dental is not mentioned. How was it established that dental was the mother's responsibility?

If it is not in the order, he must go back into Court and get it ruled on by the judge. If neither has any type of dental insurance, then it seems it would be split depending on income.
