Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support credit

I recently had my child support payment modified because I lost my job. The judge awarded me a reduction in payment along with a $3200 retroactive credit for the amount that I overpaid during the 10 month trial. The order states to pay $782/month. This past month I sent my ex $500 so that I could use some of my credit. She has filed a motion for contempt against me to force me to pay the $782. It is my understanding that I can use my credit howvere I want to until I use it all up. Is that correct?

Re: Child support credit

You probably misunderstand. Your "credit" was probably a substration from past due support, not something you can use any time you want, but I'd have to see the order to be sure.
