Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support

my daughter is 18 and until two months ago lived with her dad to whom I paid child support to. She now lives with me and I was wondering if I can ask for child support until she graduates high school although she is emancipated?

Re: Child support

You can't get child support on an emancipated minor, but turning 18 doesn't make a minor emancipated for child support purposes. For child support purposes, you can get child support until the child turns 18 or finishes high school, whichever is later.

If your daughter is emancipated for another reason, for instance she got married or she was legally emancipated by a judge, you won't be able to get child support.

Re: Child support

Nope. Once emancipated always emancipated. There is no longer an obligation, but he might want to contribute something in furtherance of her education.
