Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Child Support
I have been divorced for 11 years. I have been paying child support for 2 children for this time. I have been behind at times and current at times. My ex and I have a decent relationship and he has never complained about my payments. Recently I was informed that my drivers liscense has been suspended and my workplace contacted saying I owe over 34,000 dollars in back support. I have tried to get help for several months but just end up sitting for hours in offices that can never direct me on where to go to address this.
I was just told today that I have to go to the court where we were divorced to file a Motion for Direct Pay Credit. I can do this but I live several hours away.
Is there a local attorney that can help me file the correct paperwork and expidite getting this all cleared away. I just want to be sure the proper papers are filed and I do not waste several trips up to Ocala to do it.
