Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support

My husband has kids from a previous relationship, he was 18 yrs old at the time so he and the mom never married. The kids were already 7 and 4 yrs old when we met. The mother is seeking an increase in child support on the financial affidavit it only asks for his income...so is it correct to assume that my income is not included when determing the amount of support he must pay? I was told that it was not I want to verify.

Re: Child Support

You are correct in stating that your income is not part of the child support calculations for a souse's support with a mother from a prior relationship. If you want to review Fla. Statutes, it is explained in section 61.30. You can search for Fla. Statutes online and read them there. Good luck. Tom Rosenblum
