Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support after the kids move

Currently both my ex and I both live in Florida. She wants to take the kids and move to North Carolina, which I don't have a problem with because I will soon be moving to Virginia. However, I do think since she will be living in NC and supporting the kids in NC we should use their child support calculator. Of course she does not agree because it lowers my monthly obligation. What is the standard in this situation?

Re: Child Support after the kids move

Usually, you're stuck with Florida guidelines (which are highre than most states), but you may be able to have child support adjusted depending on what North Carolina and Virginia law have to say about it. You'll have to check with lawyers there.
