Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support for kids with a parent in jail

My childs father was granted an ''abate to accrue'' court order for his child support when he was in prison. I was not notified about the hearing or court order until years after the courts granted the order. Does this mean he has to pay it when he gets released?

Yes, the support obligation continues to accrue during prison and is payable after his release. You may want to check with the Clerk of Courts, Support Division, in the county to assure that it is set up properly in their records.
