child support

yes i would like to know how long can they hold the father in jail for not paying child support . this would be his first time. im in the state of florida .

Usually the Court will set a "purge" amouny, which is kind of like a bond, which is paid to the wife/husband who is entitled to the support. This reduces the amount owed and then the person who owes the support is to pay the original amount plus part of the arrearages,
