Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support past the age of majority

My son turns 18 in December this year. I was server earlier this week with papers stating I have 20 calendar days to respond. The papers state he is still in school and scheduled to graduate in 6/2009. From my limited legal knowledge it seems the request is to extend child support past the age of majority or basically until he graduates in June next year. Is this something worth contesting? Can I stop this from happening? I do not want to pay a grand to an attorney if there is no way to stop this from happening.

Re: Child support past the age of majority

Child support entitlement is until the age of 18 OR until he finishes high school, whichever is later. Unless there are some compelling facts you have left out, it is probably not worth fighting.
