Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child support

my son needs help. was determined he is the father of a chid. went before hrs. said he had to pay 360 month support. makes $8.00 hr. and was told he must pay back support from date of birth. she make 2x's a much as he does. also mother refused to put the child's name as the father's. right now there is no visitation rights. called legal aid and simply was told to work harder and get a second job. what can he do??? he barely makes enough to live himself. can he get this reduced until he makes more?

Re: child support

Your son may petition the court and request visitation with his child. The general rule is that the court will award visitation. It is rare that a parent will be denied visitation.

Regarding child support...if your son's net monthly income has decreased since the last support order was entered then he may have a basis to modify the child support.

Your son should consult with an attorney who can review all of the facts of his case and give him specific advice.
