Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

child support across state lines

I was married & divorced in Virginia & have a DCSE case with Virginia where I still live. My ex has been in arrears since May, and I just learned he is moving to Florida. I will notify Virginia DCSE but am wondering how fast Florida moves & if I should contact anyone there.

Re: child support across state lines

No, you should work through DCSE for the enforcement of the arrearages and not attempt to contact the Florida child support enforcement agency outside of DCSE channels. However, there would be nothing inappropriate regarding your request to DCSE that they undertake immediate action against your former husband to enforce these arreages before he leaves the Commonwealth for Florida.
