Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child Support

I am being sued for a child support amount that is impossible. I've given up everything in my budget that I can and still fall several hundred $ short. 1st question: is it my decision to have the amount deducted from my paycheck or pay the support through a check, money order, etc? 2nd question: if I can't pay it all, but pay most of it every month, can he have me put in jail even though I'm doing all that I can?

Re: Child Support

if an order to have it deductednfrom your check is entered then it is no longer your decision. If you continually don't pay a jdge can find you in contempt. But to find you in contempt there must be a willful act. If you are found in contempt enough, the judge will probably have you put in jail.
