Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support & Visitation Rights

I was giving my son's mother $600 mo. cash but I decided after 4 months being separated to give her this amount in checks or her to write me a letter that I gave her that amount every month but she didn't want to, So I told her to do it by the court, and I would pay what the court says.

My question is, what happens after she calls the child support agency, Also I want to know what I will have to do so the court can grant me permission to see my son certain days of the week or does this happen the same day the court says how much I have to pay?

Re: Child support & Visitation Rights

Usually the DOR hearing officer does not set visitation. This is done normally in Family Court.

If she files for child support, you will be noticed to appear and the hearing officer will set the figure based on your income. It is almost formulated. You have to have proof that you paid. Cash is like a gift! She may admit she got the money. Pay by check or get a receipt until you appear for child support. Bring cancelled checks as your proof.
