child support

i voluntarily paid child support after our leagal separation.can that money be used as credit towards court orderd child support.i also let her have my furniture,can that be used towards child support.

I don't do family law but most likely the answer is no to both questions. Your children can't eat this month what they already ate last month and they also can't eat furniture. I realize that many custodial spouses actually don't always have the children in mind when they get that money from you, but the system is not perfect and children still have to eat. If she gets the money from you and the children don't get fed, then the court will know who is to blame. But if you don't pay, it will always be you and you could end up in jail.
