Legal Question in Family Law in Florida

Child support to the wife I married twice

I married a woman straight out of high school and joined the Marines. When I was stationed she was pregnant and left. When I left the Marines we were together on and off and eventually got remarried. The final divorce went through in November 08. I have been ordered back child support up until the date I filed for divorce in April 08. I just found out yesterday that she petitioned the Sarasota courts (our first divorce) for back child support from before we married the second time. Can she do this? Shouldn't our remarriage null our first divorce contract?

Re: Child support to the wife I married twice

You are correct. Remarriage nullifies your first divorce judgment or agreement.
