Legal Question in Family Law in Florida
Child Support/Alimony
What is the best way to pursue getting unpaid alimony and child support from an ex who is self employed and whose business is not doing well? He states that he would like to pay me, but can't. Only thing I can think of is to attach a lien to his house--one that is tied to his title, so that if he ever goes to sell, refinance or quit claim deed, I'll have to be paid first.
Any ideas will be greatly appreciated.

Sure. You can do that. The "best" way (i.e., the most direct way) to get arrearage is to file a motion for contempt. This can mean jail time unless the arrearage is "purged." The magistrate or judge may order some assets sold or order payments, depending on the situation.

You can not put a lien on the property, but you can file an motion for contempt.
